The Ballots Are Tallied, And The Winner Is…
...The horse, of course!
Prairieland Feeds got electoral at this year’s 28th Annual Pet Fair Extravaganza on September 29 and 30.
Since it’s an election year, Prairieland, in cooperation with the Adams creative team, created a political campaign for kids. Using an outdoor “tease and reveal” technique for the two weeks leading up to opening day helped create a buzz around town, with media attention from the local Fox affiliate.
Children picked their favorite of ten animals after enjoying hands-on interaction. Families also enjoyed horse rides, exotic animals from Scovill Zoo and the Wildlife Prairie Park, food trucks, vendors, and educational exhibits – all for free. Prairieland hosts the annual event to bring awareness to not-for-profit animal rescue and welfare organizations.
Besides getting to provide a unique and educational weekend of family fun, Prairieland Feeds also experienced a nice boost on Monday for their annual Super Sale.
The horse took home all the glory at the ballot box. Runners-up were the macaw in second place, and the opossum in third. At final reporting time, though, it’s Champaign-area children and familes who were the real winners.
